Altum Identification Help

Hi All,

I am looking for some help identifying what fish i purchased. Is this a true Altum? Thanx in advance.

Any idea which? Added a better pic for colors. Also of note they were in a ph of 7.2 which must have some affect on color.

Which is not an altum but a scalare

Ok, so what stands out? Fin ray count? Nose? Bars? Color? Some of all?

The nose and shape are a dead giveway- an altum is a much taller and narrow fish and the nose is straight not uptutrned

Thanks for all the help. I had a gut feeling they werent the real altum, but figured id ask and learn. So much misinformation out there. Another question for any who can answer. In the 80's in Canada near Vancouver; retailers carried an Altum angel. Would the peruviàn been around at that time? Or is it a good bet that at that time, they were real Altums?

I am chasing the pink in the fins of Angels that we had as a young infant. But that was 30 years ago....
