Does anybody have experience with amatitlania nanolutea in a community tank? I’m looking at just getting one for my centerpiece in a 38 gallon planted tank. I have glowlights and Cory cats in there already. Would the amatitlania nanolutea try to eat the glowlight tetras?
Thanks for the help.

Forgot to add, also thinking about a Bolivian Ram so thoughts about one versus the other would also be greatly appreciated

I dont think the glowlights will be safe for how small the tank is and how small they are. The corys I think will be fine depending on the species and I dont think you should add Bolivian rams if your planning on adding the yellow convict after that everything seem good.

Mine don't bother other fish for the most part. An occasional chase and nip, nothing major at all. I have 6 of them in with Bleeding Hearts in a 125gal.
I would not mix Nanolutae with any other cichlids. As far as cichlids go they are wimpy. I had a Apistogramma in with mine for a bit and had to take it out due to it picking on the Nanolutae. Now my Nanolutae are not full grown yet so may change up some by then.

Those are so pretty! Thanks for your insight. Do you think they’re big enough to take down a 2” tetra? I know they’re technically a nano but I wasn’t sure how big their mouths are. Also, do you think one would be okay by itself?

I wouldn't worry about them hurting anything really.
I single will be fine. Nanolutae do a lot of sand sifting for micro organisms, will keep himself/herself busy.

Welcome aboard

Thanks! I had a GBR for about three years and loved having it. I’m excited to keep another Cichlid. I’m going to go pick up a female nanolutae from my LFS guy this week!
