Amazing nitrate control with lucky bamboo

This is what I'm trying to achieve - the ability to leave town for a couple of weeks without worrying about water chemistry.

The only valid reason any fishkeeper can have to leave town, is to go and get more fish.

They sort of snap onto the rim of the tank and the stalks are held in place by springy collars that can hold 2-3 typical stalks. They are easy to remove/move. I have 6 of these along the back of my tank.

I know Poth-o-carry has a newer system that's a rack that holds each stalk individually.

Thanks, that helps. I've been looking on Amazon and found some basket style i might try, but i like what you've got, the spring style clip keeps them upright.

Most of what i see on Amazon is one of these 2 styles, and the multi slot style is only a couple inches tall.

Looks like the bamboo is growing new roots. The white roots in this photo are new since the bamboo went into the tank about 3 weeks ago. Tank is holding somewhere between 5 and 10 ppm nitrate.
