i see...thanks for the info. oh ya one more thing so do u mean in any other aquarium small fishes for exihibition do sometimes get eaten by bigger fish bt just tat u guys wud restock them ? for example i seen a small clown fish in a big shark tank wit rays n sharks everywhr. no way they are feeders ryt ?

all they have to do is keep the sharks well fed and they wont bother eating the other ones

Yeah, large scale tanks allow us to pull off stuff that I'd never dream of trying in a home tank. For example I'd never suggest keeping tetras and predatory cichlids together at home, but here it works out fine.
We don't do any live fish feeds here. There are too many chances of introducing some outside funk. As for teh fish with sharks question, sharks do well as long as they are fed on a regular basis. We keep many "food type" fish (jacks, red drum, porkfish etc...) in with large sharks (sandtigers, browns, nurse) and they never hunt them down.

Lima are from 8-15" or so.

Anytime anyone is town, FIND ME!!! I'll hook you up with a better than normal tour.

Matt and Nicky give a great tour. If you want to learn how a real MONSTER public aquarium works, track them down. Just don't make him angry, he has a lot of ways to dispense with you.

Nice new pics Matt, keep 'em coming! Lovin' that school of Flagtails, they look great like that! And the rays are breeding too.....fantastic - have you managed to pull any pups?

No current pups. The last batches we had were shipped out b/c of lack of holding room. I expect more in the next month from the motoros.

More pics!!!!

Some of the tank itself, some of playing in it with the interns, and some of moving in the newest set of Otorongo rays.
I'm proud of the intern crew here this round. Rachael got to be the first intern ever to get in the water and try to hand feed the arapaima. John was trained in on moving fish out of quarantine and onto display.
