We have found some 25mm valves on the internet, but all my fittings are 1", so I hope they will fit. I will try at my LFS to see if they can get me some.

Here's some pics of one of the valves....
Did you use teflon tape when assembling the plumbing?

I've dealt with lots of PVC for my job and teflon tape can cause more problems than what it is worth. Instead, use a plumbing putty or thread sealer. It's more forgiving and seeps into the threads when tightened as oppsed to the tape which is forced into the threads. Excess sealer is simply pused out where excess tape stays in place creating extra pressure on the fittings.

Hopefully my explanation makes sense...

I'm feeling ya bro....more delays....my wife decided to come down hard on me about where I had planned to place my tank. Now it looks like I'm going to have to do a small reno job to make a place for it. Otherwise it's going to be nothing but grief on the homefront.
Man, we are both down on the luck. Hope yours is a simpler fix than mine. Good luck.

That made perfect sense....and yes, I did use teflon tape. I will go the thread sealant route next time for sure. Thanks for the tip.

Well, I am finally home and would be ready to fill her up, but I have a few things stopping right now. 2 of my 3 valves have cracked around my fittings.....I guess I over tightened them.
I got these valves from the States, so I will have to re-order some more or try and find some in Korea (not an easy job). I might try and super glue them and clamp them tight to see if that works first.

The next problem I have is, my current job will end at the end of October, but I have an interview for a new job on Monday. If I get the new job, it will mean having to move to another city in Korea for about 18 months, so I don't want to fill her up until after Monday when I will know more of where I will be in the near future.

:wall: :WTF:
wow how r u gonna get that monster out of ur apt bro

Wow, that is really bad luck. The tank looks great and I think that the valve should work out as 25.4 mm is 1". Good luck on getting the new job!

Some slightly good news, I have found some replacement 1" ball valves at a small back street hardware store. The fittings are in and I am waiting for the thread sealant to dry.

I have got my sump items bought and ready. The sump is a kind of rubbermaid tank of around 55gal. The 3 draws are going to be the mech and bio tower.

Top draw = mech filter
Middle draw = Scrubbies
Bottom draw = full of ceramic rings from my current canister filter

The sump doesn't need to a lot of water if the pump stops, the water will overflow from the sump and down a drain that is in the floor right next to the sump.
