I just watched Lou Thesz vs Buddy Rogers on YouTube. Jack Dempsey was the ref. Big difference between then and now.
 
Yep,waaay back then it was boooring.Could you even tell who was who in the footage?
 
The picture was not bad, like a B&W TV show. What was interesting was watching Buddy Rogers in the ring and you could the prototypical behavior and antics that has developed in todays showmanship. Georgious George is another early wresteler to watch. Just go to You Tube and do a search it was best out of three falls.

I took a look at it last night before turning in and I was surprised at the clarity of the video.I did not watch the entire match though..Buddy Rogers was the man..the original Nature Boy.He came out of retirement to battle a young Ric Flair over the name.
