I was wondering if anyone has ever purchased from Cichlid Station (cichlidstation.com). How was the experience and the quality of fish? Thanks.

I have not bought from them, but have heard only good things (?)

I have ordered from them.I ordered 2 EBJD and a chocolate cichlid in the last part of July. The fish looked good and healthy, however sadly one of the EBJD died on me after 3-4 weeks but that seems to be common with EBJD.The other EBJD and the Chocolate are doing great. They were great answering all my ? about thier fish and the care they gave them. Altogether i had a possitive experience with the vendor.

I wouldn't myself, the info they give on several of their fish is wrong. I figure if they can't get information on the fish right, what else is going to be wrong.

I purchase from them about once a month.

Out of about 50 fish I ordered this year, three arrived dead, two died shortly after arrival, and seven died within the first week.

They have great customer service, and the five which died upon or right after arrival I was given full credits on. Wasn't a big deal, but hated that it was the particular fishes I've been after the most.

Every fish I've bought from them was remarkable with the exception of a gosh aweful looking Bleekeri.

The Jurupari I got from them earlier this year has got to be the most brilliant Juru I have seen in my life. The colors he has makes me think he was mixed with a Surinemisis--but he looks full natural.

Overall, I'm satisfied with Cichlid Station and the unqiue selection of fish they carry; and will purchase from them again for sure.

Hate to say it, but I am leary too when a distributor gives false info. Here is one example.

Red Devil, Ruby (live fish cichlids) 3" - 4"
The Amphilophus citrinellus is a cichlid from Central America. It is commonly known as the Ruby Red Devil. This is a very attractive south american cichlid that develops a 'hump head'.

Looks like they may have a good stock though, but makes me afraid I wouldn't get what I am paying for. Anytime I speak with someone and they Mix up Red Devils and Midas and say their the same. Ussually means a hybrid Lab/Cit. Not meaning to slam these guys as I have not gotten fish from them. Just saying be cautious.
