i voted for no.30 just because that photo was the most pleasing to me , good photo of good subject taken in a good position

I always thought that POTM is a contest where people vote for their favourite photo and not a contest to see who has better photography skills?

Of course a well-taken photo will have much better chances in winning the contest I guess since you must be able to see the subject, and that the subject has to interest you enough to make you want to vote

My point being, people should vote on the photo in its entirety. quality, subject & composition. not because they know who's photo/fish it is. and certainly not on a comment they read on page 7 on the thread.

Seriously, I don't submit pics of my tanks, cause then people know. I shoot friends & familys tanks. & the occasional belly of a shark from under it (see March)

..

Sometimes plugging your own photo can also work against you.....lol

i think it was a hard decision between number 8 and 30. in the end i went with 8

May - Bottom Dwellers vs. Marine & Brackish

June - Cichlids vs. Albinos & Shortbodies

July - Full tank shot vs. Bottom Dwellers

August - Ancient Fish vs. Inverts, Reptiles, and Amphibians

Sept. - Marine & Brackish vs. Native & Cold Water

Nov. - Planted tanks vs. Inverts, Reptiles, Amphibians and Other Exotic Pets (must be aquatic related).

Dec. - Photo of the Year
