Aqua Nova pumps any good? other quiet return pump?

I have recently purchased the Aqua Nova NCF 1500. It is rated at 1500L/h, but when removing it from the box, it did not look like it was up to the job of 1500 L/h. I tested this and found after 2 identical tests, that it was less than 40% of what it was rated at. All air was removed from the canister prior to conducting the test, and the filter was allowed to run for awhile before any measurements were made. The hose diameter just did not look big enough for 1500L/h. At best, I could only get 581 L/h from this filter. I would suspect that other models of this brand would have similar findings. On the plus side, It was quiet.
 
I would try to get something a bit better, the price is not that great also if pushing 600L..

The first 2 pumps will last you quite some time and both very quite and constructed quite well, last one is a cheapy DC a lot of friends use these and they are still going + they really push water and of course the 40W draw is quite nice..
