Color isn't sex related from what I have seen. But that is just what I've seen from capt ive care. Wild might be different.

i think you would have more succes if you moved them into a pond
and also if they were bigger
im sure full sized pimas breed more willingly than smaller ones
 
I visit friends in Malaysia who breed Arapima in relatively small ponds. Its pretty easy as they have a seasonal wet season there but it is necessary for them to seed the pond with some fertiliser. This promotes a green water bloom which gives the fish enough security to spawn and is a good food source for juveniles. The water goes thick green but as they can breath air, there is a lot of room for error.

genetics i am not sure about it,but i am sure its not a albino as there is another colour present lining the scales , and the enclosure tank is all white background , could it be that?
