Recently I bought a twenty gallon to keep my mouth brooding cichlids in. After that I decided I am going to keep shell dwellers in there; so are compricesseps shell dwellers and how many can I keep?

I didnt think they were shell dwellers but have evolved to specialize in eating shell dwellers hence the compressed shape and upturned face

There is a dwarf species that uses shells, however they are not shell dwellers. A 20 is too small for anything more than a young pair of regulars comps. The body evolved to allow them to wedge themselves in space to be safe from predators.

Yeah i have found when they are smaller they will use the shells. i had a pair of dark red comps and they would breed only in this large shell i had
