Are my fish stunted?...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here is part of my large group of sapphires growing out in a 125 gal. They are up to around 3" to 4" now from nickle to quarter size when I first traded for them...

Hillbilly, thanks for making this rather informative thread. Photos are always worth a thousand words and this deserves to be stickied in its own right.

Stuck.

Folks, please make use of this thread with pertinent questions in correlation to growth regulations and inhibitions. Thank you.

Nearly everyone that has kept discus for a while has had or will have fish that for whatever reason just grow properly. I usually try to give such fish away rather than having them in my tanks taking up tank space. But then, I do have 150 plus discus. I can understand if a person does not want to get rid of a fish if they only have a few.
Nice group of fish you have KindredSpirit. It does look like that Snakeskin in the top left of this picture has had something in it's past that set back it's growth some. Notice that the eyes are slightly large for the body size, or maybe it's just very young. It does look healthy though. The rest of the group look great however.
