They may redo the CITES in the US, so it could b a possibility.
Luckily legal where I live
US cannot "redo" CITES. It is a international treaty. They can choose not to adhere to it though.

Alaska has been added to the list. Alaska only made the possession, traffic, and sale of native species illegal without a special license.Asian aros are illegal in the US, no exceptions for private citizens. Jardini, Leichardti, blue/blacks, silvers, and Africans are legal in the US. Although it is always good to check with each individual state to know which apply specifically. Unfortunately, the list we have does not include Alaska.

Alaska is pretty relaxed on keeping fish for pets (unless native to the state, big no no) same with reptiles as long as not venomous. I actually seen an Arowana for sale on Craigslist a few months ago but just because it was on craigslist doesnt make it legal lol. Thanks for the replies, I will look into the Silver and black/blue Arowana's and double check local regulations to see if they list them as Illegal to own.
They are different species from different areas, and they do vary a bit. Although they are fairly similarSo just curious what is the difference between a jardini and a Asian because I've never seen the reds and greens up here but have seen the black jardini, 24k golds, platinums, and pinkish colored jars but nothing labeled as Asian
I live in Kenai and have a friend or two in fish and game, I would avoid any north American species if I.
