Hi
I have looked through many posts on this arow. forum and havent been able to find any information on arow. species types or sizes of the different types,
could any body help me out plz?
as i am getting a new 450lt tank "juwel" and am looking for some nice big fish to go in it.
Is there a smaller arow. that would suit that size tank and what size does it grow?
I am not good with the mixing of fish and would apreciate any posative input.
The kind of fish i like other than my channas that i have in other tanks are,
arows, oscars, jaguars, wolf fish, fire eels, bichers and pikes, but am open to any other ideas from you fellas that know your big fish.

Please, any information on what fish i could use, could you give me an order in which to put them in, as i know this can have some leverage on whether this mixture will work or not.

Many thanks,
Danny.;)

450L tank roughly translates to 118G (US) gallons. im afraid it would just be a growout for aro's.

even for the jardini?
as i have heard that this is the smallest variation of the species.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Cheers,
Danny

Considered to one of the smaller arowanas, yes. Still can reach over 20" in captivity though. BARE MINIMUM should be 6x2x2 AKA a standard 180 gallon. Here is a easy method into finding the appropriate tank size for a specimen.

Maximum arowana growth length = Width of tank.
Maximum arowana growth lenght X 3 = Length of tank.

A height of 2ft is perfect for all arowanas.

But remember bigger is always better and is recommended if more than one specimen is going to live together. ALTHOUGH jardinis have very little chance to live in peace with other arowanas/bigger fish.

More info can also be found in the Arowana section with all the stickies....

I have 2 black aros in a 120g tank:D

These guys will have to move though once they hit 18". So unless your planning on buying a much larger tank, an arowana is probably not a good choice.
