ARTC Hemibagrus wyckioides, Mr. crankypants, 16"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks. As I was describing above, it had always had a hollow log hiding spot until about 10 days ago. But I think you may be right, I should give him a better and bigger one to see if it makes a difference. It means I won't see the fish but if it will help it feed and grow, it's definitely worth a try.

I offer it far better stuff than fillets - whole or cut fish with all the goodies still in it. Nice and smelly / appetizing feed.

My ARTC turned into a completely different fish in 4500 gal. Now eats anything and everything, just as Jibran said his did, and doesn't bother anyone, at least I've not witnessed it. Sports an occasional ripped fin, so something goes on sometimes. I am yet to figure out what.

Can barely see it here. Short clip and it bolted towards the back of the tank:

Hopefully he begins to grow for you then, glad to hear his appetite has grown and attitude diminished

He's doubled in circumference.

As far as the attitude, he's gone from horror to wonder. At least so far.

Great news Viktor.

Over 1.5 years later. The ARTC remains in the 4500 gal. I am still to catch it bother anyone. The cat has reached 2.5'. No other changes to report. It moves its sitting spot around a bit but I haven't a clue why yet.
