Also they are selling a epaulette shark at the local fish shop, I think it's one of them. Im tempted to get a saltwater tank just to have one, lol.
I caught a couple of dudes @ my feeder spot, and my missus reckons i had a look of murderous rage. Nothing worse then your spots getting tapped.Eric A;3300829; said:Well, little discovery to tell everyone.
So, this new kid came to our school and is friends with others in our group. We are walking home and he's going on about his turtles and stuff, and then the disscusion goes onto fish. He keeps rainbows, and colourful mollies that he caught. So he goes on to show us his fav fishing spot.
It's got bony bream, mollies, guppies, tandanus, and red claw.
He was also telling us about some big fish he has being trying to catch for ages, that are in the deeper water. He says they are jungle perch?
Is it possible that JP are this far south? I suppose we will find out Sat, we are going with our gear, and my long handle dip net to try and catch them.
BTW don't bother PM or anything, i'm not giving the spot away.
Thats promising. You know it flooded a while ago, so maybe got washed in. They are about 30cm says my friend. Going tommorrow, I hope I catch some.Cammo X;3304177; said:It could be an isolated population, would have to very well oxygenated and have some current.
I think Jungle perches range was up north south to the Mary, (dont quote me on that though) They would also have to be fairly big, since they cant breed in freshwater.

I took my girl to a restaurant down here that had one of these guys, a coral cod and a school of longfin and normal Banner fish in a like 15 foot tall tank. An 8 footer built in the wall with a 24'' mangrove jack and a 22'' Barra. And a poxy marine tank with nemo feeders.dingoofus;3298981; said:Also they are selling a epaulette shark at the local fish shop, I think it's one of them.
