Alrighty, I need advice from the super knowledgeable people who have actually owned 2ft+ Jardini.

I just got offered a big one, and I cannot put it in my tank, it would have to go in the pond.

How often do they jump and what can I do to stop them from jumping?

p.s. we are building a new heated pond 2000+gal :headbang2

G'day.

Sorry I have not owned a 2ft Jardini, but thought i'd throw my 2c in.

I'd use netting, or a fine mesh, secured down on top of the pond. Firstly it will keep fish in and secondly, birds out. If your not comfortable with that, rack up a wooden frame and put some coragated plastic on top, will also act as a green house to keep warmth in.

Hope this helps.

Oh, I get it, someone who's scared of a bit of Australian culture, you may as well pack up and go back to England, shame, shame.
Forgive me for not draping myself in the Aussie flag or rocking a southern cross tattoo. Ockers =+ :shakehead I am proud to be Australian by birth, I just don't feel the need to act or talk like a yob.

We don't have to go around acting 'australian' since we are allready australian by birth, we can act however we want and do what ever we want and technically it would be australian.

But it's sorta like a chinese person saying they are proud to be Chinese but doesn't want to talk chinese.

Whats wrong with that? They were born in China so they are chinese. Even if they talk pig latin, they are still chinese.

(yes that is meant to be a really lame pun with the pig and swine flu in china)

Hmmmm, if I want this Jardini I'm gonna have to bring him home within a couple of days, only place for him is the pond.... Jardini's are badass but so are Murray Cods'.

I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't get it. What do yous think, will they live together without out too much trouble, they would be roughly the same length with the Murray Cod being thicker.

If you do get it, it'd be the Jardini I'd be worried about. I wouldn't worry about the Murray getting hurt.
