Does anyone use automatic fish feeders? Do you have one that you know works well? I have a 10" african arowana and when I go back to work in march I would like to still be able to feed him multiple times a day while I'm not there. He eats almost anything that sinks or floats. Very good eater.

I’ve been using these in my fish room on my grow out tanks for many years. The only downside I can say is the customer support is terrible to say the least and was obviously made worse when they pulled out of the United States. I currently have around 13 in use which is down from around 20. I had 3 die over the years and now I just toss them instead of dealing with Eheim directly.

Hello; Back a number of years ago I had to be away from home 5 days a week for a long spell. I was home on weekends. I did not want to move tanks nor take them down.
I used the cheap sort of feeders which run on a small battery and use a clock mechanism to rotate a small drum. I found the batteries last for months and the feeder worked well.
Some things to consider. First set one up when you will be around for several days. I found it necessary to move the unit some as it was dumping food onto a cover at first. I also had to try some different foods to find those that worked better.
The feeder has a bit of adjustment as to how much will be dumped at each cycle. The clock type feeders I used only dump two times a day with no ability to change this.
I had good luck with these type auto feeders. I had to use them for some long spells over a few years.

I have I think 7 of these ILONDA ones from amazon. Work great, work with google too...

just gotta say hey google feed the bass...

not so good for large amounts of flake tho, had to enlarge the opening...

Oh, tank placement is a little tricky too

If you use auto feeders also make sure you are on top of your fish health....i have heard stories of peoples fish losing their appetite during trips and the feeders kept putting in food which then fouled their water faster

This is just to feed them like twice during the day when I'm at work but I definitely always keep up with water quality no matter what. I will make sure to test the feeder to make sure the fish even eats the food without seeing me put it in. The african arowana always looks right at me when I do.
