Avocado Puffer

I fed mine a piece of fresh water shrimp yesterday- Hercules ran right over and gobbled it up- FINALLY- I have tried frozen krill, squid, and silversides, but until that all he ate was crickets.
I might try the mollies- my guy is in a 15g tall, so there isn't alot of get away room for other types of fish.
 
Go get one they are worth it, I dont see them around all the time,
 
Guess who finally got one of these? :thumbsup: Puffers are awesome fish! For everyone looking for a mini monster that can be kept in a 20 - 30 gallon freshwater tank, please try A.modestus ! they are very active and eat in the familiar puffer/trigger style!!!:evil_lol:

Their teeth do grow fast!! Learn about Puffer dentistry at **************.com website, I am sure Pufferpunk will chime in!
 
I have read a bunch of articles that say you need to make sure that you feed them snails regularly to prevent their teeth from over growing.
Anyone seen their teeth actually over grow?

just found some of these in lfs...stunning little things,was toying with idea but there 15pounds each,do you think thats alot?

and this dentistary lark,is it easy?
 
There seems to be a lot of these puffers available out there lately. Fahakas too. Dentistry really isn't necessary for this species if it's feed enough crunchy foods. Beware, this guy grows fairly large--about 7-8"-- & will require a minimum of 40-55g of high end BW or SW.
