How so... its better then opening a new thread about the same problem or question.

Just fish for them. thatchers are not going to give you one. They don't even let you take photos. Guessing there a lot of money in them that way and how to don't get out, but then again they let u take a tour of the place some times.

the world record Striper is 58 inches. where are they getting the 70+ from?

The MD State Record is up near 70lbs, and was well over 5 ft (60 inches) long. I'm almost positive it qualified IGFA, but i doubt it was the world record. Most records are kept by weight, not length, but I recall when this record fish was caught, I was still living and rockfishing heavily at the time. They're not suited for a full life in any aquarium, you'd have to have some aquarium to allow these fish to reach maximum size and isn't that what we encourage here?

yeah even the new would be world record landlocker striper ( full freshwater) is 70 pounds the only reason its not is because it was never landed but found floating dead the very next day with the bait and line hanging from it right where it broke the anglers line the day before. :wall:

i got a 52 pounder before but i was wondering how to catch fingerlings and yes i know they get huge but i figure it will grow to the size of the aquarium CT state record is 75lbs in New Haven harbor of all places

that statement alone proves you are not ready to own any sort of large fish.

do any fish you may get a giant favor, do some major research before diving into anything. your only going to be harming fish, and forcing them into an early death with that train of thought.

What hes trying to say is that no matter what size tank you put it in it will keep growing. It is false to think if you keep it in a small tank it will stay small, cuz the fact is it wont stay small.

man, i wanna pull in some nice stripers like that! biggest one i ever caught was at lake havasu and it was about 20" only
