Got no secrets mate they did it with little help from me.
I Just purpose built a cave from slate with a narrow entrance opening into a wider space behind so both fish could fit in with some wriggle room to spare. Then did a 50% w/c to lower the temperature then kept it in the low 70's (it was in the low 80's).This simulates the wet season which is breeding time for a lot South American fish.
I did that for them after I moved them to their own tank.As I said at the start of this thread the first time was a complete surprise to me!!
