I just went to a fish store that was an hour from my house and they had a baby black arofor a reasonable price. They sold a single 2 inch black aro for 60 bucks there (no egg sac). I was very tempted to get it but i know that they are very venerable at that size. if I ever see one at that size and price, should I get it?

How can I ensure minimum mortality rate?

What should I feed it?

Any other info?

If i get an black aro, i would be putting it with an Hydrolycus armatus. Would the combo work if they were simalar size? I know that armatus like to target silvery fish. i've had my armatus take out the eyes of my angel fish. Would this combo work?

No, it won't work. Armatus grow way faster then black aros and it would just eat it. If you want the combo to work you need to grow out the aro and then add the armatus. I know as I had the combo until my armatus committed suicide. My aros were already over 18" when I added the 10" armatus and there was no problems.

Arowana that size should be raised by themselves to 5-6" then only a few select tankmates up to 11-12". Extreme jumpers even when small, need to have a well secured top. Feed freeze dried blood worms to start.

Do they eat that a small size? sometimes small fish are stressed out that that size and they don't eat.
In the lps, the aro was swaying in a massive current. Is that mandatory?

All The baby arowana that I've had ate within hours of being put in the tank. Baby aro needs to be in calm water with little or no surface current. If you ca see the aro being moved by the current, then there is a good possibilty that it is stressed causing it not to eat.

How do I ensure that the tank is clean without filter current? I do have divider. Do I put the baby aro in the other side of the divider with no current?
