I prefer eco earth over cypress mulch because the way i figure it if they chomp on it they won't break a tooth, they won't get splinters and if they ingest it it would be easier to pass.

Also...I don't know if you make an attempt to be "green", but eco-earth/coco-fiber is a "green" product while cypress definitely is not. If you google it, you will find a lot of articles about the cypress trees in the everglades being over-harvested to supply mulch demands.
