I'm in Hayward in the eastbay. I've been going to Moon's Superway Aquarium for 30 years now and he's become a trusted friend. When I asked him for a Datnoid, he had it the next day. And his prices are always cheaper than anyone elses. On a down note, he does have a lot of ich in his tanks. Buyer beware. But, I'm always interested in taking a ride and checking out new shops. Got anything local that you'd recommend? Do tell. And if they have weird hours, like closed tuesdays, let me know. Thanx!!

Hey Westie. I live in San Francisco and I usually go to 6th Avenue Aquarium on Clement Street in the Richmond district. They have really cheap prices for their fresh and saltwater fish. Also, their equipment prices are pretty cheap also. BUT, they allow the customer to get their own fish so sometimes the fish look stressed or diseased with everybody putting their hands in the water. You really have to pick carefully. Also, on Sunday mornings there's usually is a line to get in before they open because they have bags of saltwater fish for really cheap. But they float the bags in their established tank so everyone is reaching in with their hands also. They usually have some hard to find fresh and saltwater fish so that's the trade-off. Hope this helps, The Doctor.

I go to Superway as well. In fact, I'll be going there tonight for feeders. My other hangout is King's Aquarium on Story Rd. in San Jose. And of course, there is Aquarium Concepts in Dublin.

Used to love Ken @ AQ when they were downtown hayward. He is very suseptible to cutting prices if you tell him somebody has it cheaper. Try it sometime.

Superway is great..... always a few hard to get fish there....

other then that, Lucky goldfish is cool..... employees are very nice and chill there....

Hi, in San Francisco there is Sixth Ave..Also you should check out Hung Ming in Chinatown in San Francisco..There is another Hung Ming at Misson also in SF...If you want like oddballs, you should check out Family Pets in Fremont, King's Aquarium in San Jose, Brians Fish World in San Jose and Dolphin Pet Village in Campbell..

I been going to Superway for a while, 12 years...I dont talk to the owner much..Only time I talk to him is to make him lower the prices, which usually he does, lol..

I think the South Bay has nice fish stores but San Francisco has them also..

San Francisco.....Sixth Avenue Aquarium

Between 5th and 6th Avenue on Clement...Unless you steal it or breed it, 6th Avenue shows the best deals on the street....Sixth Avenue has the lowest and sometimes wholesale prices on fish and equipment...Come and see the store on Sundays....Sunday, ALL saltwater stock is 50%-75% off!!!

Right now there is a breeding pair of 6-7 inch Managaunse for $60....I have seen this pair upstairs for the past two months..
7 inch Arapima for $200.....
3 inch African Tiger fish for $30....
20 baby Tiger Barbs for $5....
Nautalis for $60...Weird floating shell fish that looks pretty unique....
