Bearded dragon substrate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Everything i read says 'Dont use crushed walnut!' Because of all the stories of the jagged pieces damaging their insides id never use it.
In my opinion its a risk im not willing to take but im glad its not been a prob for you F1 as i know your guy has been around a long long time =)

Everyone uses sand because everyone thinks they live in the middle of the desert, which they don't.. They live in scrublands, woodlands, and on rocky outcroppings. Not on vast sand dunes. I've learned that a mixture of dirt and sand works well for almost anything, and is one of the most versatile substrates out there.. I'd go with that or slate.

I might just put sand or walnut on one side and leave the side mm I feed her on how it is. She.loves digging in my clothes and stuff. Shes in a 125g tank alone so isle should be fine.
