BEST FLOWERHORN FOOD FOR LONG LIFE

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this is my first reply on Mfk so go easy on me :)
IMO those 'fh speciality foods" are just scams, they have wayy too much protein and might even contain chemicals and hormones, hence 'fast kok growing results in 3 days".When i first got my blue magma fh I was into the okiko and ocean free fh food craze,i would waste my money on these so called 'colour enhancers' and 'fast kok growing formulas" money that could have gone to more important things in my hobby,i now feed my my fh hikari cichlid bio gold and even pro rich arowana sticks ocassionally ,it does have the 45% protein (the cichlid bio gold)which might be a little too much for a staple diet ,but i hope to move him onto hikari cichlid staple and hikari cichlid excel as he ages
happy fish keeping

Welcome to the forum, it's a nice place to be to learn, there so much is always going on general section, really high quality discussion.

Not to discourage or anything, did you go through posts in this thread? As none of the foods discussed here are flowerhorn specific, nor did anyone talked about hump. The discussion was mostly around ingredients.

Due to geographical limitations, some countries don't get many brands but get hikari, in those countries hikari bio gold plus is best available food. But globally there are much better foods available especially ones from NLS and northfin.

Thanks :) I was just stating that a generic cichlid pellet is much more nutritionally balanced than many flowerhorn foods and help with a long life

Got it, no worries, I thought you misunderstood the conversation that was going on. Most if not all on MFK stick to generic cichlid pellets as well. I haven't seen RD. around lately but he is just on whole another level when it comes to nutrition, do find his old posts if you are searching for anything in particular.
