I've had great luck using a python to do my weekly 75% changes. I run the faucet just long enough to get a good syphon and to clean the sand, after that I shut off the sink and jet the water drain on it's own. While waiting for the tank to drain it is recommended to have a cold beer or two on hand to keep you company. Once it's down to the required level then you add your dechlor(I like using Seachem Safe) and refill with tap water set to temp. Couldn't be any easier.
