Best Water Conditioner

SeaChem safe here. same thing as prime but allot more cost effective. can get the 5g bottle of prime for around 300 bucks and treats 200,000g of water or 2.2 pound of safe for around 50 or 60 bucks and treats the same amount of water. both are exactly the same thing. safe is inn powder form.

If you are treating chloramine, once dechlorinated, the by product is ammonia. So you really do want a dechlorinator can remove that by product.
as an FWY both prime and safe treat ammonia and nitrite as well, with in 24 hours all chloramides will have gassed out, it does not turn them into ammonia. but with a cycled tank ammonia or nitrites should not be an issue. your bio filter can still utilize ammonia treated with prime or safe. same for nitrite. if you are on untreated well water you have no need for prime, safe or any other water conditioner.

Really? Can you point me somewhere that explains this?
But the bb in the tank should take care of that. And prime doesn't "remove" ammonia anyways. No product "removes" it.

no it does not, safe/prime is a salt. it binds to the molecule for a time. time enough for chlorinates to gas out.

Chloramine-chlorine=ammonia.(chloramine is chlorine infused with ammonia) You could refer to Seachem's website and it has been archived on MonsterFishKeepers a few times.

Chloramine will not off gas in 24hrs..

i did not know this.
"All dechlorinators operate through a chemical process known as reduction. In this process, toxic dissolved chlorine gas (Cl[SUB]2[/SUB]) is converted into non-toxic chloride ions (Cl-). The reduction process also breaks the bonds between chlorine and nitrogen atoms in the chloramine molecule (NH[SUB]2[/SUB]Cl), freeing the chlorine atoms and replacing them with hydrogen (H) to create ammonia (NH[SUB]3[/SUB])."
