I saw him thrash and it looked really gut wrenching--the strength of beasts this size is really tremendous. The strength of its head and tail pounding on the floor was like a big muscle man punching the floor. But overall, my hope is that somehow this teaches him a lesson and he won't jump out anymore.
His appetite is now back fully to pre-jump days and his bruises are not visible anymore.

Hehe, you meant they have quite a big learning curve then.
