Why are bichirs not thought to be a threat when snakeheads are. just asking?
Snakeheads reach breeding maturity quicker than bichirs. Snakehead posed a threat to the ecosystem due to their aggressive behavior, robust ability to adapt, and over breeding. The media portrays snakehead as one specy rather than one type of fish from the channa family so when the public heard the word "snakehead" they're quick to jump to conclusion that it looks like the giant snakehead or northern snakehead.

Yeah, it sucks. I would really like to keep one of the dwarf species.

The outright ban of all snakehead species is preposterous. Most of the species cannot survive in most of the states. It's the same type of mentality that led to the proposal of HR 669.

Hi,issues on snakeheads have been blown out of reason, there are so many other alien fishes that were introduced in US waters that have or will cause more damage than snakeheads!
