Why are bichirs not thought to be a threat when snakeheads are. just asking?
Snakeheads reach breeding maturity quicker than bichirs. Snakehead posed a threat to the ecosystem due to their aggressive behavior, robust ability to adapt, and over breeding. The media portrays snakehead as one specy rather than one type of fish from the channa family so when the public heard the word "snakehead" they're quick to jump to conclusion that it looks like the giant snakehead or northern snakehead.
