A lot of the poly peeps will shorten the scientific or latin name and other poly peeps know what you are talking about without all the other letters. So easy one polypterus senegal would be sen, same for delhezi would be del. Hope that helps.
When cruzing through the grave yard of forgotten threads take a look at the spot right below the posters name there are dates or times of the reply. If it's a few years old you are probably not getting an answer. You can click on the name of posters also and see when the last time they were on and find other posts they have posted like if you find someone particularly helpful and like what they have said you can check out what else they have said on other threads.
