Big African Haps

The Champs is one of my favorite of all the Africans. That one looks like it might be a female.

Have to agree with champs being an awesome fish krichardson...when full sized not too many fish look as good I reckon...this one Im pretty sure he is a big boy as he is now almost all blue and yep beating up all fellow fish in the tank..the joys of big predatory fish...:hitting:

The A.Christyi have recently also bred for me and I got a nice mouthful of around 70 little guys....so guess whos a happy camper :)

Just curious whats the availability like with these guys in the US???....any variety more rare than others?....I also used to have tyrannochromis nigriventer...but the tyrannochromis macrostoma are hard to come by in OZ.

How big are these guys?

Still on the younger side but the C.Caeruleus is about 25cm now,the Spilos. and A.Christyi are around 15-20cm....they are all quite young so have a little more growing and filling out to do...the C.Caeruleus reminds me of a dragon when its full grown...all the fin tips keep growing and can easily add another 5 to 10 cm onto the fish length...

These are much better then those big ugly New world cichlids lol

Nice looking haps. Makes me miss mine.

As I mentioned guys..the A.Christyi had a nice big spawn with a girl holding about 70 little guys...thought I should chuck up some of the pics I grabbed...unfortunately I have had to restart my journey in fishkeeping(life happens while your keeping fish!) and don't have these guys any longer but they will be part of the new fishroom :nilly:

Dad:naughty:

The Kids:nilly:
