Crappies can get larger...up to 18". A 8" crappie must be stunted one or just a young crappie.

I was well aware of that =_= swordtails get 6", corys get 5", bgk 20", angelfish don't actually get 8" but there fins extend up to 14" the body itself gets 4-5" max. don't be mad at me the person who said angelfish is incorrect also...

Show me a 6" swordtail?
Whilst you're at it, a 5" corydora?
Also, an Angel fish with 14" fins?

Female swordtails grow larger than the males and you'll be lucky to get 4" out of one, also, even with the sword, a male isn't 6" long.

Corydoras grow in the 3" area - a relative to the cory a brochis may hit 5" but not a cory.

Finally. I don't think an Angelfish can attain 14" long streamers. Yes they are long, but not that long. You said their bodies are 4-5" meaning they get streamers 9-10" long!?

I think you need to check up on your measurements, because none of the above sit right with me.

worlds largest corydoras 4.7" i think YOU need to check up on your measurements, here quote taken from wikipedia, Altum angelfish are the largest species of angelfish, there are 3 species of angelfish incase you didnt know. [h=2]Description[/h]Species assigned to Corydoras display a broad diversity of body shapes and coloration.[SUP][4][/SUP] Corydoras are small fish, ranging from 25 to 120 millimetres (1.0–4.7 in) SL.[SUP][2]

Heres the swordtail for wikipedia
he male green swordtail grows to a maximum overall length of 14 cm (5.5 in) and the female to 16 cm (6.3 in).

Angelfish
The species is the largest and rarest of the genus and specimens exceeding 50 cm in height (from tip of dorsal to tip of anal fin) have been reported in the wild; in aquariums, specimens are known to have grown to over 40 cm.[/SUP]

^ Pics or it didn't happen ^, and what I think op is looking for is a fish that can be fairly easly attained with long fins. while there may be somewhere a 50 cm altum angelfish I doubt that that would be easy to get or to grow out to...
