Biggest Great White Shark

I agree totally... but still am VERY aware when in the ocean. I had a creepy experience in Galveston once. I was about waste deep in what is basically lake water... you can't see anything. I was walking out to where my friends were... on a sandbar (which is a HORRIBLE place to hang out). I got abou t1/2 way there and bait fish started jumping out of the water around me... I stood there perfectly still for about ten seconds... then very slowly went back to shore. Side note... there was a jack-ass wade fishing where people were swiming!

come to cape town after you see te grate white sharks that swim around there you won't feel the same when you go into the ocean again.when you see 1 of them breach to hit a seal you will s$&t yourself.

Oh wow... yea.. if anything was around me it was a Bull Shark... I can't imagine a porker. I don't think too many of those frequent Texas waters. You don't surf there do you! Has one breached while you were in the water.. and why were you swiming around seals???? :)

I've seen that pic of the surfer before... wondered if it was a fake. The dorsal looks awfully sharp for a silhoette. If it is real... I would have caught the next wave in! I hate to see those pics of carcasses mutilated... pretty sad to see that we still need to cut the teeth out of our oceans apex predators.

I'm no photography expert, but that surfer sure looks like he is putting on the brakes! Its pretty tough to get that much of your body out of the water... I agree the jaw souvenir pic is pretty rough, but shark finning is drastically more cruel & much more common. They just haul the shark in, cut off all it's fins & tail, then dump it back in the water to sink & drown or be eaten alive. Horrible. Also, I have caught more sharks in and around Galveston Bay & just offshore than I care to think about. Many of those were Hammerheads & Black Tips, not just Bulls, though. I no longer wade into the water, unless I can see my feet. I'd much rather be in scuba gear & able to see & react. Unless I'm diving, I'll be on da boat thanks.
