Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted in here, I've missed MFK (I've needed a bit of a break from being online; aren't Facebook groups just so mentally fatiguing?). A lot of my work has gone into print these days (Practical Fishkeeping, Amazonas, Fish etc., along with books), and I've been itching to share some of the articles here, but publishers like things to be exclusive, but now a bit of time has passed, I might post some shorter or updated versions of them here in digital format. Though if it's of interest, you can buy the issues here if you want to read the full versions.
On a different note, The Bichir Handbook is back by popular demand. After 2 years out of print (and 3 print runs), I've been working on a revised edition which should ship out worldwide in the second or third quarter of 2025. It includes some new pages (uncovering their missing ancestry, breeding, how bichirs came to be discovered, and more), along with updates to reflect the latest science. Back for the first edition, I made some cards for World Environment Day 2021 to promote the book along with various conservation charities, detailing the variety of biotopes they live in. I've updated them, and thought (promo material aside) that you'd appreciate reading about and seeing these biotopes!
If you have taken any polypterid biotope photos yourselves too, post them down here!
