black dragon water monitor

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats on the Black Dragon! They are a lot more rare than the yellow monitors if you base it on availability of the trade. I believe I also saw another ad on kingsnake for black dragons from someone in Texas, but at a much higher price. There is also a store down here in southern Cali selling a pair, but that store doesn't even come close to matching up with the reputation that Ben Siegel has.

Make sure you post pics when you get it!

I think I will build a good size cage outside for summertime and other inside the garage on winter...hopely I can get another one..just needed to find out what sex is mine..and then I'll go from there..any comments on type of cage outside???thanks mike

outside cages are nice. just make sure they are escape proof. ive seen people use chain link dog kennels for outside englosures. you could dig down and pour concrete so they cant dig out of the bottom. then just cover to top and your good to go.

ask Ben for proof that's its CBB, ask for egg pics and it hatching or at least in an incubator.
Its better to raise a group of them together then getting adults and trying to introduce each other. There is a very experienced water monitor keeper that has a female sulfur for 12 years and he said its nearly impossible to put a male in with her. She killed two males that were introduced and has now given up trying to breed her. Its always better to raise a group together then ween out pairs or trios as they will be use to each other and most likely not have problems compared to random adults.
