Black pool filter sand?

I use pool filter sand alot to save money. I was wondering does anyone know if there is any pool filter sand out there that is black? If so what kind or company makes it?

I dont think that there is. there would be no reason for colored pool filter sand if it were to be used in a pool filter so im sure they dont make it. they do have colered sands at coloredsands.com i think is the site.

3M color quartz is what you are looking for. I heard a rumor that they were discontinuing it. Just a rumor though.

I don't think there is black poolsand but there is black sand for sale in most aquarium stores

See if you can find Estes Medium Broadcast, or it might also be called Estes Ceramacquartz . Its basically the same as 3m colorquartz except it doesnt need to be rinsed. There is two different grades, the finer of the two is more similar to 3m's S grade. I bought it at a local painting supply company. It settles well and looks great. I also have a tank with 3m's T grade (larger grains) and i prefer the Estes. Locally the 3m stuff was $30 for 50lbs and the Estes was $24 for 50lbs.
