Black spots on Lutino Oscar

I picked up 2 small veil tails that were the only 2 in the batch that didn’t have any black pigmentation on them. A few months later their finnage started to get dark. Then as it got older it seemed to get really dark in some areas and lose all pigmentation despite good water conditions and low stress.

The first photo is midway, second is adult, bottom photo is at 6”. 3.5” of tail. Lol.

Nice veiltails if I had room for another tank I’d get one. Either way he turns out he’ll still be my favorite fish. He’s got loads of personality and My two year old daughter is obsessed with him thanks everyone for the input and I may post

You can't really tell a fishes adult looks from it's young looks. Care level, diet, stress all play a great role in the final appearance.

I started with this little guy that had all of six dots on each side.

And to think she was sold as an albino tiger, more like somewhere in the middle of a tiger and a red.


So he changed from having pink albino eyes to normal black eyes?
