I forgot yours was a mala this whole time, you can mix them now for sure Imo. Less active etc. I had a mala with my odoe, the odoe passed him in size and tried fighting with him a lot though he didn't win despite his size advantage. But the mala didn't start with him. Keep your wolf well fed and go for it.

With the wolf I have 4 silver dollars and a Jack Dempsey. I'm worried about the jack and the pike. Should I get rid of the jack?

I also have a megaladorus catfish. Are there any smaller breeds that would be hardy enough to live in the tank?

It's cousins lol, or other catfish, like pim. Blochii, I was gonna try ornate pims wi mine but read they're peaceful so I don't trust it, the blochii are atleast semi aggressive so yea. Semi aggressive cats that get big enough to not be eaten should be fine if your wolf isn't overly aggressive, and as for the jack, I wouldn't keep it with him. I had a jag that was only 5 inches trying to mess with my odoe and he got a nasty bite and stopped, then my wolf killed him. Cichlids if they aren't big enough can't take the beating and if they are they might take advantage and become overly aggressive which then means you need more fish to spread the aggression out, so it just makes things harder. I'd get rid of him.
