Never seen that before. check the water I guess:confused: I have seen them get black on the body due to water quality

do you give you fish drugs?

lol yea theres a small chance it could be something wrong, so better safe than sorry check water quality and do a water change...
but i think its important to note that most blood parrots have a mutuated cornea/pupil. One of the unintended consequences of the hybridization is a misshapen or larger pupil pushing into cornea... no telling how this affects their vision but it is a common occurance, esp with later generation bp and seems to be more prevalent in the RED blood parrots. so it could just be a mutation but its always a good thing to check your water and clean the tank.

interestingly enough though, I have noticed that they can change the shape of their pupil when looking at different objects... like dilation but expressed differently... I used to have a parrot with a triangular pupil that would change to round when she was looking at something up close.
wierd

have you experiemented to see how well it can see? the easiest way to do this would be to hide food from it in a way it would have to use its eyes to find.
if they can find food by vision its eye should be okay... I don't know of any disease that turns the eye of a cichlid black with no other symptoms... but disease OGs he would be the ones to confirm that speculation. Post in the disease section just to be sure
