I'm sure I've read somewhere that each time they moult, they increase their weight by 40-50%

As they age, their weight goes up more compaired to their size.
You know like......... twice as long, twice as wide, twice as high but 4 times the volume...

Is your Quad a female or a blue variant of the normal Redclaw???

Seeing as we're talking Quads & moulting........here's one of my little guys.
Not long after moulting he's chased by another male who is named Mr Nasty.

Moult ~

She is a female. I thought all male Quads had the red spots on their claws, including the blue variants. Have you seen some without them?
I should have read post better....:duh: Female...

Nah.......Just trying to breed some coloured variations. I selected some juvies that were a little more coloured than the rest of the bunch. Blue'R males & the females were on the pinkish / red side. As they're gowing they're going more normal coloured howerver....

Never seen a total blue Quad before.....Very cool!

Here in the states around the area I live C. Quads that are totally blue are actually more common than non-blue ones. I believe the blue crays are easier to sell, so more of them are imported than the non-blue variations. Its also harder to find a male C. Quad than a female, probably for the same reason.

bout 2 months.
i doubt that he's molted because he hasnt changed in size at all.
Yeah, it would have been hard not to notice the size difference after mine molts. So far she has gotten at least 1/3 bigger after every molt....2X bigger for the first three or so. Maybe your water is too cold...I've heard that can cause problems with shedding. It really depends on what species you have though. Do you know what kind it is??
