That will only happens when you drop too much superworms and let grab too much inside the mouth. The live superworm will try to scratch the aro while they are being held inside the mouth to being swallow. That's why it's best to drop just one at a time till it swallows it.
 
Nice piece of arowana. But I feel that it should be given more space and remove some of his tankmates. :)

He got lots of space living in a 375g and the only arowana in the tank. I've seen 15 asian aros in a 6x2x2 feet tank. My tank is 96"x30"x30". He kept bannging the top cover if he's by himself. I used to kept him in a 180g tank by itself. He's better off in a comm tank as he seems relax.
