To be honest, I'm not really sure what is the population number of kirin out there being a fertile male overall in the U.S. The only thing I know is that a buddy of mine is in the process of breeding his kirin male with a kirin female. It is proven fertile and the pair had successfully bred it once already, but he just toss them all at the LFS for credits for FH food. I'm still waiting for his MP kamfa breeding in the process currently also...then time to buy some frys. :D
Well thats as good enough chance I as wanted. One confirmed is better than none. I guess it would some what close to that of a flowerhorn or king kong. I hope my little Bonsai is fertile. I have had to 2 sterile male parrots and its kinda of a downer. its kinda sucks that the batch Petzone got looks a lot like my Bonsai, was hoping for a nice green looking one like izzy_here has.

Well right now Peach the smaller female is lip wrestling with the Bonsai. He usually just shoes her away so this is a good sign. Been going on for bit now. Last time I saw her do that was when she tried to breed with my largest male parrot.

As I type this, Butters the larger female, came and broke it up so dang.

Yeah, you really should just choose a female and remove the other one. If it doesn't work out, you can switch the two females. If that fails, grow both the male and females out another couple of inches and try again.

your male seems to REALLY like your black/orange female, but she just finds him annoying... the pics of the bonsai and the smaller bp looked more like breeding behavior to me... IMO

Thats what I was thinking, I have a video of them doing that for like a few minutes but I didn't upload. Hopefully I will get my Kirin and its male. if its male I am gonna get a divider and put the kirin and the black parrot with him and the bonsai with the smaller parrot.

Ok so I bough a sheet of egg crate for $12 and divided up the tank. I put the male bonsai and the larger female on the left and the other female and my new kilin parrot on the right. The Kilin is too small to breed so I will give him some time.

If the larger female keeps being unresponsive to the bonsai I will switch out the females. So she has a week to stop being a butt.
