I caught my first bowfin with a seine on Sunday (3rd bowfin ever). The one from sunday was a perfect 6" specimen.

in terms of aggression they dont do well together but seem to be ok with other fish

Hello guys, have a question to ask, i just bought an approximately 12" bowfin and i forgot to acclimatised it as i got too excited and i loaded in the tank, previously the shop dealer had to acclimatise it for over 30 mins, and his tank temp was about 30 degrees celsius and now my current tank is also 28 to 30 degrees celsius but it looks like its breathing hard. Not sure if it can survive through though. Any thoughts on this?

It'd be nice if some bowfin owners would chime in with pictures of their fish....I would have but I no longer have mine.

Picked up my first fish today and it was this same kind. It was a juvenile that wasn't difficult to set up and catch.
