Could someone point me in the direction of a step by step or guide to building a 3 teir breeder rack would something like 3-4 10s on the bottom middle and top. Did a search but didn't come up with anything.

Pretty easy to build.
Figure out how tall and how wide you want it,build 3 boxes attach them to your uprights.
Use 2x4 ,had one made for 20 gallon tanks .
If you have any questions pm me.

You can use decking screws to hold it together, I have stands like this for 10s and 20's and one which holds three custom 80G breeder tanks stacked. In the past I have used lag bolts instead of screws for a 2x4 stand that held 20 55G growout tanks. Lag bolts are better imho because you could take it apart and put it back together a couple times without ruining it. Another option to consider.... Costco has two heavy duty metal racks for sale, one has 5 18x48 shelves that can hold 1000 pounds each shelf so 4 10s or a pair of 20H per shelf is no problem. They also have a bigger one that holds 2000 per shelf 77"x24". I am looking at the latter for holding three racks of 6 20H breeding tanks. The bigger one can be linked to a second one using the bottom shelves as the posts are double sided. the big one is like $137 on sale til Feb 17 and the little one is like $65. I just got one of the little ones because it can be broken into two shorter sections - I've got 3 40 Breeders on top and 4 20H below them but you could do 8 10g across (2 shelves) if you stick them in long ways. 2x4s would be cheaper in both cases but the ride to costco and home depot are the same distance and if an extra 30 bucks or $100 saves you a day of cutting, building, sealing, noticing that it isn't quite even and then pulling it apart and rebuilding then perhaps your time is of value too :-)

USE A LEVEL!!!! If the stand is in the garage like mine then you will find that garages slope anywhere from 2-5" from wall to door so that water will run out. Imagine building a perfectly straight 16' stand only to find that it is on uneven ground leaning toward the garage door so that there is a constant yearning for all that glass and water to eventually fall sideways.
