hello..i'm so impressed with you "project"..I also have a plan just like you..
(10x4.5x7)ft..I got a few Q here..
1)How's the attachment..(the glass to the concrete)
2)The filteration for water,,(type of pump include-->the power)
3)if you want to use sand??..what and how the filter that you gonna used??
4)it all about to keep maintain the 'crystal clear' water and manage their dropping..

will post pics tonight.

so far, here are the dates.

March 3rd - fill cores with concrete
March 4th - finish sealing floor and finish & install background
March 17th - Set Glass!!!
March 18th - finish sealing and install top frame and supports
March 24th - install pumps and plumbing
March 25th - pumps, plumbing, lighting, decor
March 31st - build cover
April 1st - fill tank, filter testing, drain tank and refill

Yes, I agree, but I had to set a date to try to get everyone here to install the glass. As for the "life's what happens" bit, I agree, but I also don't have any monsters in a 20gal long that I'm trying to build this for either ;) I'm waiting til the tank is done to start buying big fish.

I couldn't agree more. I've been getting a little frustrated because I want to fill this thing and get fish in there, and I expressed that to my wife. She (God bless her) said, "isn't the project and building this part of the fun?". You and her are right on. She eased my mind initially, but you've reinforced that. I'm having a blast building this thing. It's the most substantial thing I've ever built. It's going great, and I'll get it filled eventually. Thanks for your thoughts.
