HEY GUYS OR ANYONE WHO'S ONLINE NOW PLS HELP ME TO SAVE MY RTC !! I JUST BOUGHT IT A FEW DAYS AGO AND IT HAS BEEN HAVING BREATHING DIFFICULTIES ( LOOKS LIKE ITS COUGHIN ) AND THE WHISKERS R TORN..I'VE TRIED PUTTIN SALT N MEDICINE IN THE TANK BUT TO NO PREVAIL..pls help !! SOS MY CAT IS DYING =(

He might be adjusting to your water parameters and not doing well.

It is always best to quarantine new fish......however this is too late

I suggest adding a couple of large airstones AT ONCE

Do a 35% water change now and over each day for the next 4.
Do NOT ADD ANYMORE SALT or any other medications.
I have found lowering the water temp helps also because the oxygen content will be higher. You can only lower it about 4 degrees. Do it slowly as you refill the tank.

If he recovers he will eat the small fish in the tank.

Do not feed any of the fish for about a week.

I hope you are succesful in keeping him alive.

hey arapaimag my rtc is doin great currently in a 4 footer gonna shift it to a outdoor pond once the pond is sorted out..gotta remove some small fishes =) thanks alot for the tips..

How big your RTC? I have a channel cat, only about 6-7 inches.

I am glad he is well again and going to a more appropriate sized pond. Please Send us pics on this thread when he is in the pond.
