Building My 50,000 Gallon Monster Mega Tank

I am checking my lotto ticket now :)

If I win, could you at least point me in the right direction as to who to contact to build such a dream project? Help a Canadian brother out! haha

Truly fantastic and inspirational. After getting a 240 gallon tank, I thought I would have enough room to keep MOST of the fish I wanted. It took me about a week to realize it wasn't even much of a hospital tank.

One day..one day..

Have you considered using solar panels to help diffuse some of the electrical expense? I am in the 'planning stages' (as are 9/10ths of the users on this forum) and am thinking of how to do it to save money in the long run. I was even researching water hyacinths as part of the filtration like some 3rd world countries do to treat their municipal water, just to help save water and money.

I think you are the envy of everyone on this forum, and the epitomy of all that is monster fish keeping!

Thanks for the kind words.

I have thought of solar panels but I have not done anything yet. I might in the future the intial cost and space for the number of batteries vs the number of years required to offset the cost is whats held me back. The lifespan of the batteries and replacement cost can be pretty expensive.

I know, you could make money by letting people snokle in it! no longer must you go to a tropical paridise!! Fishing derbies might be and idea too if you can stock that thing with some trout!! All of us at cudata.org love it too and are getting ideas for our newts...

OMG.... I thought your mini mega was crazy, this tank is a work of art. I wish I had room and money to do something like that, though not such a huge scale.

Glad to see you got around the site. Do you have a gold clownknife? If so please post a few pics of him on this article so I will see it. thanks.

The quick link is at the bottom of that article just after the list of fish.
