Do you have any plans to be introducing anything new or exciting into the Monster tanks??
Nothing in big fish planned at the moment.

I am getting a few smaller fish in the next 2 weeks.

The 2 big tanks have become crowded with cichlids breeding faster than the big guys can eat them.

Are you getting the new tank or the turbo for your car?

Would you ever consder building a bigger salt water tank then the 225 gallon saltwater tank?
No

I really like the marine fish and I've gone as big as a 600g owning a nurse shark and a large grouper but I am too busy at present with all my other hobbies.

ah i understand, you need some sort of super cichlid predator to munch a few of them. Nile Perch?? or Hydrocynus Goliath?? lol

Well i was in talks with a chap about buying a fully forged engine for an absolute bargain price. all it needed was a turbo to complete it, so ideal for me really. but he let me down at the last minute.

Now due to Christmas being round the corner (what an inconveinience:irked:) I will probably have to wait till the new year now. But i will also being saving up to prep my car and drive down to the Nurburgring in Germany and due a couple laps and drive it back over a long weekend in april.

Too many things to spend on, not enough money to spend :( lol

I am planning a huge tank. I could put 100 of my future tanks (which are scaring me to death) inside of this one tank. All of a sudden I feel calmed, serene even.
I've been getting in trouble with my wife for my "Damned monster tank! Nobody," she says, "has an aquarium that big!"
I'm gonna show her your tank.
Tanks man! I mean it.
Wow!!!

I've owned the Lates niloticus (bought in 1997 at Pet's Plus in Lockport NY) and killed at 22" by my infamous 26" black shark in 1999)

and Hydrocinus goliath (bought in 2000 at Big Al's Aquarium Services in Hamilton Ontario on Centenial Parkway) it died in 2003 by jumping out of the small opening while I was feeding it......getting injured and not recovering. It was 18". It was not in either of the 2 big tanks at the time.

I also owned Hydrocynus vittatus (bought in 2000 at Pet's Plus in Lockport NY) it grew to about 17" and died in 2005 in the 15,000.

The Hydrocynus are very good predators but very delicate and can be injured by rough tanks mates of similar size.

I'm getting a baby H. goliath and H. vittatus on Saturday about 2" long from Oliver Lucanus in Montreal. They are delicate to ship also so I hope they make it OK.

As far as hunting and catching 2" to 8" african cichlids the Tigers are just fair. My big Brycons (heleri and Guatemalensis) are far tougher and faster.

The cichlids breed because of all the rock cover and big time since the gooch and salton passed on.

Great idea.

I've owned many over the years and I actually was thinking they might be a good fit again.

My last 2 were a C. piquiti and a C. temensis I got from my good friend Neoprodigy in 2006. No luck with the piquiti but I got the temensis up to 24" when he picked up a bacterial infection and medication did not help. It was a sad day when he died.
