The day I need a boat to catch a fish out of my tank is the day Im in heaven!!! Awesome tank...love the posts and pics!!
Thanks for the kind words. We actually use 3 boats at times.

Talking with a wheelchair basketball team rep from Austin Texas yesterday that is coming to my basketball tournament in July and he said it was 16 degrees there. That's -9 c.

Hope you are in a warmer area.

-24 c at my house two nights ago.

Its 19F here with a wind chill of -5F so it is still pretty cold but not the worst I have ever been in.

The wild Texas cichlids in your state must be awfully tough to handle the cold weather.

3ft goonch. Nice! I hope he's still alive just hiding out biding his time till he can get back at the leeri. Any recent pics of the leeri btw? One of my personal favs. Almost got one when I found out I couldn't own a wels in the states. But their highly aggressive demeanor turned me away from one

how about posting a pic of your huge aba, i heard of it but never seen it
My aba is not all that huge. It is only 37 to 38". Some of the guys who have seen it feel it is a lot bigger.

The tank is 96" by 48" by 26"

I've owned a few Pangasius sanitswongi.

The first 7 I had in the 15,000 acquired between 1995 and 1998 until one choked on a large 13" (approx) black belt cichlid now called a Paraneetroplus maculicauda. The remaining 6 then needed to be moved from the 15,000 to the 52,000 around 2000. I lowered the tank by about 9 to 10,000 gallons and Oliver Lucanus got in it and caught them for me.

2 terrible pics of Oliver in the tank back then and a more recent pic of him visiting this past summer.

The fish were awesome in the bigger tank and really looked like sharks when swam and circled their prey.

They all died in 2004 when I lost several big fish over a 3 to 4 week period.
The smallest was just over 36" and the biggest was 39"

After that I had 3 more which were in the 52,000 acquired between 2004 and 2007. They were very aggressive and actually chased my Arapaima arapaima when they were eating. So we lowered the tank and caught them, they were given to a hobbyist in the USA who had a large indoor pond. They were between 15" and 20" a lot smaller than the 6 that died in 2004.
